What is Dream Big’s attendance policy?

All clients are required to maintain an attendance rate of 70% per month in order to keep their spot on the permanent schedule. The attendance policy of 70% per month is established in order to keep consistency for your child to meet their goals. If you are unable to make your time and day, please arrange for another time and day either via zoom or in person within a week. If your attendance drops below 70% per month, the front office will let you know that you are at risk of losing your spot. If you are removed due to attendance difficulties, there will be a one-month waiting period to be back on the permanent schedule to allow anyone on the waiting list an opportunity to take that time and day.

For more details on our attendance policy, you can reference our intake form https://www.dreambigtherapies.com/intake-form/

What happens if I have a late cancellation or no show?

1st no show is counted as an “oops” since we do understand things happen and you simply cannot make it to your scheduled time. A 2nd no show will result in removal from the schedule. A late cancelation occurs if canceled for an appointment less than 24 hours and will result in a $30 charge.  If a late cancelation of less than 24 hours occurred and a family has Medicaid/Medicare insurance or participating in the TEIS program, then  a make up must be rescheduled within 24 hours to maintain your reoccurring time slot.

What is the IN HOME Therapy attendance policy?

Congratulations, you are one of the few families that have in-home therapy! Attendance is particularly important for in-home therapy. Attendance is crucial for your child to progress in therapy. In addition, our clinicians have a set driving schedule that is heavily impacted by cancellations, and heavy demand for in-home therapy means a canceled appointment was a missed opportunity for another family. For these reasons, we are instituting a strict 100% attendance policy for in-home therapy.

If you must miss an appointment, please make sure to schedule a makeup Zoom session with the office. Failure to schedule a makeup session or get approval for an absence in advance will cause you to lose your place on the schedule.

No Shows Policy/ Late cancels

1st No Show/ Late Cancellation: We understand mistakes happen and we forget sometimes. There is no charge for a first-time late cancel/no show (Less than 24 hours from the appointment ). That no show or “oops” must be made up within the same week.

2nd No Show: A second no show results being removed from the permanent schedule.

What happens if my child’s therapist has canceled our session?

In the event that your clinician is unable to provide the scheduled therapy, your child will be matched with another clinician if the same time is available that day. If no clinician is available to provide therapy at that time, the appointment will be canceled. This will not affect your monthly attendance rate.

Is there a cancellation fee?

Yes, there is a cancellation fee of $30 for late cancellations and missed appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice. Please refer to our cancellation fee policy for more information.

What do I do if my attendance rate drops below 70%?

We encourage you to communicate any changes in attendance as far in advance as possible. If your child’s attendance drops below 70% this could result in a loss of permanent therapy time. In extreme cases, this could result in a pause in therapy until a helpful solution is met.
